Why did you choose a MeloYelo eBike?
I have a GoldCard and was perusing through the Seniors Newsletter when your ad caught my eye.. The fact that MeloYelo had taken the older generation into consideration, as well as your agent’s fervent enthusiasm for these bikes, bringing them through to Richmond for us to try out, had us already virtually sold on your product before we even cycled around the block!
What do you love the most about my MeloYelo bike?
Apart from excellent value for money, great looks and a superb cycling experience, I love its name most. Why? Because it reminds me of Donovan’s song Mellow Yellow which has great emotional value for me. My husband and I were school sweethearts at that time in South Africa. We met up again over 40 years later, and decided we’d get married and I’d move to New Zealand which has been his home for over 25 years. So when we saw these eBikes there was certainly more to them than meets the eye, the heart got involved too!
How has the eBike changed my life?
In many ways! My husband and I were fortunate enough to live in Rarotonga for 5 glorious years. We decided to go without a car and only cycle, walk or catch their (clockwise or anti-clockwise) bus in keeping with how we wanted to experience island life. Upon returning to Nelson we were determined to emulate our island lifestyle for the health of both ourselves and the environment. Three years later we still only walk, cycle or bus.
Having an eBike has made buying groceries a less daunting event as I can “fly” home no matter how full and heavy my panniers may be. It’s enabled us to enjoy excursions way beyond where we would have gone on our normal bikes. It has enhanced and improved our sense of wellbeing and our lifestyle.
When friends and family ask about your eBike, what do you say?
To be honest I can’t say enough! I get this big smile on my face! I tell them: I love MeloYelo’s promise. I applaud their EVolocity programme. It’s improved our lifestyle. It’s great value for money. They should definitely get one … and I’m just mad about my MeloYelo!
