Can you see yourself getting out and about in your community, attending events where you demonstrate electric bikes, offer test rides, make sales, and then handle the after-sales servicing requirements?
Our contract opportunity is commission-based, work at home, suitable for a retiree or individual who has people skills, mechanical skills (preferably a good working knowledge of bike mechanics), and who wants the feel-good factor of knowing the work they are doing is supporting a good cause.
Our organization, EVolocity (www.evolocity.co.nz) is a registered charity running an engineering education programme in high schools in which teams of students design & build electric vehicles, receiving tutoring & mentoring throughout the year. We now have more than 100 teams competing from schools around NZ and the programme is growing fast. Our goal is to grow the number of students who have an interest in pursuing engineering education and careers, helping to alleviate a substantial skills shortage, while also turning the next generation of drivers onto the merits of electric vehicles.
Historically, most of our income has come from grants and sponsorships and while we will continue to use these sources of income, we have also recently launched MeloYelo (www.meloyelo.nz) – the brand for our range of electric bikes which are built to our exacting specifications in China.
We’ve spent the past year perfecting the specifications and quality control processes, and working with a small network of regional Associates to test our innovative marketing approach. Now that we know we’ve got a great product at a great price, a proven marketing system, and strong technical skills amongst our existing network, we’re ready to expand.
