The Townee e-bike has been designed for those who want a bike to ride primarily in cities, towns, and on urban cycleways. And, most importantly, for those on a budget. It is also one of the easiest bikes to ride and pedal.
The step-through frame makes it easy to get on and off, even if you’ve got mobility problems such as bad knees or hips. The thumb throttle can deliver motor power without you needing to pedal – ideal for getting going quickly from a standstill, or for an extra burst of power up hills.
The Townee is easy to pedal because its motor is controlled by a cadence sensor, not a torque sensor. This means that once you’re moving, you can keep going without having to pedal hard, unlike torque-controlled motors that require extra leg pressure for extra motor assistance.
The battery is very easy to remove – great for when you need to lift the bike onto a vehicle carrying rack for example. Townee has a chain guard to protect your clothes from the chain. And, we’ve even included a derailleur protector, which means that if your bike tips over, you won’t suffer expensive damage to your gearing system. And, as with all MeloYelo e-bikes, The Townee comes with free lights, mudguards, and a carrier.
The Townee is comfortable too. It comes with a comfortable, memory foam saddle, swept back handlebars that allow for a comfy upright riding position, and front suspension which smooths out the bumps.

I love this bike, it does everything I need, battery lasts plenty long enough for the trips I do, it’s very easy to ride and the throttle is great for when you need a quick start, I’ve recently had a few health issues and find riding my bike gives me exercise that I can cope with. I had the original townie before this one which I did over 10,000 kms on so I’m hoping I can repeat that on this one. I’m 72 and find the townie a great bike for me.

Excellent to ride only found one fault with the bike the battery, well to put in a different way my feet are to big to fit between the battery and the V part of the frame.I have to lean the bike over so that I can get my left boot/shoe onto the left pedal then pull the bike up and away I go. Its not light quite a heavy bike but better than my other bike as the motor had don’t its dash approx.20,000kms so this is easy to pedal up hills and down dale ,Thanks Ken, to all you folk I won a prize $600 off my new bike and thanks to company .

I love my Mellow Yellow Townee bike, I ride to work every day and I have found that my legs have strengthened which is awesome. The frame I thought would be heavy but is quite light. The Tyres are fantastic as they are not shinny ones. Originally, I wasn’t interested really in the bike, but I wouldn’t be without it now. Yes I was the same as Bob I won $600.00 off my bike.
