We’re Kiwis. We grew up in the 50’s and 60’s. (Peace and Love). We’ve applied the extensive and diverse skills of our team (including engineering, industrial design, marketing and international business) to the development of the MeloYelo range of ebikes. They’re engineered right here in NZ.
Our nationwide team is bound by a common creed: Do right by the customer and do good for NZ. Because we’re not simply seeking more customers. We’re seeking raving fans.
MeloYelo began life in 2016 not as a company, but as a brand of EVolocity, a charity which runs an electric vehicle competition in NZ schools. Teams of students design, build and compete in electric vehicles, learning not only valuable engineering skills, but also about their economic and environmental benefits. Today, MeloYelo is independent of EVolocity, but MeloYelo’s CEO is Chairman of EVolocity, MeloYelo continues to provide funding and expertise, and several MeloYelo agents actively contribute their time and expertise to the schools that are involved.
We want you to make an informed decision so that you buy the e-bike that’s right for you. So, we provide a lot of free and useful information through our Blogs and our online Information Centre and, we invest lots of time training our agents, making sure that they’re knowledgeable not just about MeloYelo ebikes, but about competitors’ e-bikes as well.
Once you’ve bought your bike, we want to make it as comfortable and hassle free as possible for you. We’ll take the time to fit the bike to you, we’ll deliver a free and comprehensive service check once you’ve clocked up a few hundred kilometres and, should you have a problem with your MeloYelo – regardless of where you are in NZ at the time – there’ll be a MeloYelo agent nearby who will gladly help get you up and running again.
We know that some of you don't use Facebook and that's fine, but for those who do, we've created a community of customers who are really enjoying sharing photos and stories, places and adventures with their fellow MeloYelo owners. It's a really cool vibe. But don't worry, if you're not on Facebook we'll engage with you in other ways.
"I love my MeloYelo. In another life I might have dreamt of owning a motorbike for feelings of freedom and excitement. Nowadays, the joints are a little creaky and life is more about contentment and comfort than speed. Somehow, more about the journey than the arrival. Still, there remains a thirst for adventures and new possibilities so I did the research and found I had options. I bought a MeloYelo and there it was: Freedom, but at my own pace. A little bit of speed but not out of control and not least, a little bit of bling with quirky but classy design. My smoky blue Tranzit has looks and function.
A whole new world of NZ's natural wilderness has opened up for me, on beautiful trails I would never have access to on foot these days. But I'm also an urban girl. I feel alive in the city I live in, making use of new cycleways amongst cyclists of all ages, enjoying a feeling of community, the cityscapes, the harbour, the joy of exercise, friends who also bike, coffee, and perhaps even being a small part of a movement towards better and sustainable city living. Who needs a Harley? Buying my MeloYelo has felt really good and it has enriched my live in so many ways."
