A segment of the market has told us that they’re happy to pay a bit more to get the lightest possible e-bike, but that it must be suitable for riding on NZ trails, up to grade 3. The Superlite ticks all the boxes. At 22kg it is no heavier than a carbon fibre ebike, yet 4kgs lighter than our other models. It has the high-power/high-torque Bafang M420 motor, a 10 speed Shimano Deore gear set, velvety smooth air suspension, hydraulic brakes, and a thumb throttle that gives you power boost when you need it, once you’re above 6km/hour. This compact toolkit velcroes onto the frame of your bike. It contains a multi-tool, an emergency tyre pump, a patch kit for mending punctures, and levers to remove your tyre so that you can repair the tube.
Simply drop the saddle using the lever on the handlebar and you can now put your feet down on the ground while remaining seated. 100mm of travel. Needs to be fitted by your MeloYelo agent or a bike shop.
Dropper seat posts offer increased safety while riding. The lever system allows you to quickly move the saddle out of the way when approaching descents or trail obstacles. With the saddle out of the way, you’re able to be in the appropriate riding position to handle upcoming variations in terrain without fear of your saddle pitching you over the handlebars. When not riding trails, dropper posts are super handy at crosswalks, stoplights, or in other situations where stopping is necessary. Simply drop the saddle and you can now put your foot down while remaining seated.
