I’ve had my MeloYelo Town’n Trail now for couple years, and absolutely love it! Mostly easy/ intermediate trails for me but my daughter has used it on advanced grades as well, and It’s never given me any issues at all. Good battery power. Would highly recommend.
Sharon Creamer –
Love my MeloYelo bike. It lets me ride further (and faster) than I could on my old bike. Nothing like a ride down to the beach on the weekend to get a coffee and watch the waves, it is food for the soul.
Margaret Chaproniere –
Best bike ever. I sold my old bike as i needed one with a throttle because of my knee replacement. My town and trail has been perfect for rehab, now a year on, we take it to lots of places. Rotorua, Cambridge, Kiawa lakes etc. Everyone loves the smart blue colour. If anything happened to it i would not hesitate to get another.
Rob Darragh –
Can’t speak highly enough of the Melo Yelo town n trail. The bike handles extremely well and has met all my expectations. The bike is comfortable to ride and is a big improvement on my previous ebike from a different manufacturer. I have recommended Melo Yelo to a number of people who have gone on to purchase one in the Kapiti area

This bike is a perfect commuter bike with the ability to transform into a great bike for the many off road bike trails we have in our Nelson region. It has great range with battery to really get out and explore or ride with a group to your favourite cafe whether near or far. I have had a town and trail 27.5 inch since the beginning of March and it is the perfect fit for me, With 3 frame sizes available, you can find your perfect fit as well. You really will be looking for a reason to take your bike to do your errands instead of taking the car.

I sold my old bike because i wanted one with a throttle after my knee replacement. My town and trail has been perfect for rehab. Now a year later we have had great adventures, taking it to Redwoods Rotorua, Cambridge river trail Kai Iwi lakes etc. If anything happened to it, i wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one. Best bike ever.
Simone Brooker –
Loving my new bike, so comfortable and easy to use.

We love our Town n Trail E-bikes. It was very confusing trying to select our bikes initially as everyone was telling us to go with mid drive bikes. But once we trialled the hub drives, we were convinced they were a better option. There was no pressure from the Melo Yelo agent. He let us trial all the bikes and as he explained it us really down to how we feel on the bikes and especially how we feel going up a long steep hill. Got to say the thumb throttle really makes a difference when starting off on a hill. The quality of the bikes are outstanding and comes with all the required extras as standard whereas other brands cost extra for lights, stand and carrier etc. We are extremely happy and glad we selected Melo Yelo.

Absolutly LOVE my Town’N Trail MeloYelo. Have had for a couple of years now, mostly easy & intermediate trails but my daughter has riden on advanced trails without any problem. (Queen Charlotte Track)
Good battery power & distance.

I love my Meloyelo bike. I am now in a biking group with friends in my retirement village. We go for over 50k rides fortnightly and shorter rides in between. 3 of us have Meloyelo. One has upgraded to Meloyelo and she lives it. I attended Sport HB training which covered maintenance, riding safely etc. Very informative and worthwhile. I am now using gears more and changing with confidence without looking. I have yet to put bike to test to see how many KS it will do, but am doing a few shorter rides following 50k rides to check. HB cycle ways are great and banks damaged in cyclone have now mostly been repaired.

Have had my Town’n Trail for three years. It has proved very reliable and well suited to the easy trail rides around the Kapiti Coast. The range is perfectly adequate and the step-through frame is s good feature. The bike came well equipped with disc brakes, lights, bell and a rear carrier and was good value compared with similar e-bikes.

I love this bike!
I used to commute by bike, all the way into my early 30s (including when we lived on the hills in Cashmere). But then I stopped biking as I had to travel for work.
With all the new cycleways, I wanted to get back into biking, but was hesitant.
Now I’ve had my MeloYelo more than 6 months and travelled about 1300kms. It is so fun, and it’s the best bike I’ve ever had. The size is perfect, the seat is comfy, and the extra help from the motor makes travelling long distances a breeze. It’s just so fun!
This is the best investment I’ve made in travel since buying an electric car 7 years ago. Now with RUCs coming I will be even more motivated to keep biking over winter!
I would recommend to anyone thinking about getting back into biking to invest in a MeloYelo bike. It will change your life!

A good bike but the warning bell is too smalll and too quiet. The seat is to square and uncomfortable especially after 10 kilometers. Don’t the designers know the anatomy of the human backside. You need a rounded seat not a square seat. It would be also be good to have hydraulic brakes instead of cable brakes.
Paul & Paula Langrope –
Though since having our bikes, we have not used them a great deal for various reasons, but to date we have found them very comfortable and enjoying to use. We bought them as part of our retirement plan.
When my wife was demoing one, she didn’t realise that she was starting and finishing from the raised step outside the store, but when she used it for the first time proper, she had difficulty in putting her foot down on stopping as the lowest seat position was too high. I cut off part of the seat shaft to get the seat down to the right level.
Otherwise, they are brilliant
Debbie Lattey –
My husband and I love our Town ‘n Trail bikes, they are so easy to ride and we haven’t had any problems at them at all. My husband is 87 and still riding several times a week up to 40km at a time, which he couldn’t do without his ebike! Best thing we ever bought. 🙂
Tony Carter –
Can’t fault it..great comfy ride.perffect for commuting and lots of fun.
Elliot Pollard –
I have used my town and trail bike mainly on the road, will certainly be doing some tracks I’m confident the bike will perform, it’s strong performs well has good off-road tires as well. I have been informed it’s due for its first service which I’m yet to have. Overall a good solid bike that performs well and as great value for its price.
Martin Rushton –
By way of background I have the hub drive version and I’ve had it for around 18 months. It’s my second ebike and I’ve been using ebikes for over seven years. I cycle around once a truce a week in a group of mainly retirees and we usually do around 25 kms on each ride.
So how has the Town n Trail been? Well for me it’s pretty much spot on. I’m not the smallest person in the World (I played prop way back in my Rugby playing days in Scotland!)
I find the bike is very comfortable and has a more than adequate range and power to deal with the routes we ride. It’s been very reliable and easy to operate and I reckon it looks pretty good too.
I’d recommend the bike for anyone who like me wants to use cycle trails and do a little bit of modest off road riding. It didn’t cost the earth either.
I’d give this bike a big thumbs up

I love my Town n trail and use it every day weather permitting. As I am older, in my late seventies I ride short 10 to 20kms trips to keep fit and enjoy the outdoors. This is my second ebike and a vast improvement on the first one which I covered 4500 kms. I tried a mid-drive bike and settled on the rear drive as I like the assist lever for hills. It gives me the option of a hard or easy ride depending on how I feel.
Stuart Barwood –
I’ve had the bike three years done 1700km and in that time no problems (1 puncture).
The bike is very easy to ride and makes it fun. The battery has a great range have had 120km out of it with one bar still showing.
Robert Deighton –
I use my town/n trail for farm work. I sometimes go to town on it. The usage is not high but very effective for what I do. A crank sensor failed but was fixed under warranty. A great bike for my requirements.
Andrew Campbell –
Have had my bike for about 4 months now. Haven’t used it as much as I should’ve had. But it is a very good bike and make cycling very easy.
As I had a stroke 10 years ago the bike makes it easier for me to go cycling and not get exhausted and feel like I am about ti fall off. As before I got the bike my old bike I wasn’t able to go to far as my body wouldn’t let me. So in that case a great bike and very affordable.
Tracey –
Love my bike, great lasting battery, easy to ride on and off road. Great friendly service from reg in Clyde and great to be able to get a service from place of purchase.
John von Hartitzsch –
Had my town and trail 3yrs in june.Travelled 15500ks ,has never let me down.It is a superb bike.I just hop on and ride daily.I have knee troubles when walking but not riding.Hills and wind are no problem with the instant power from the throttle.I would and have recommended meloyelo to many…im a good ambassador. Teri Pikia –

Ann Weir –
My Town and Trail is a little beauty! Solid yet nimble, this bike has allowed me to do far more than ever before. The throttle control gets me going without using my gammy leg. The power assist gets me home when I have over extended my fitness level. The back carrier has my raincoat, lunch and snacks. The front bag on the handle bars has the van keys and my phone. And the bell, tells everyone ahead of me to be afraid, very afraid! We are coming through! This bike has given me back lots of confidence. It is solid and reliable. Tracks well. Rides well. Goes through mud and water like they are not there. Copes well with most tree roots and those tyres have plenty of grip. You need to go and buy a new Town and Trail for yourself, because my one is not for sale.
Karen –
Love my Town’n Trail! Have it for 8mths and ride it almost every weekend when I am able to. I was a non rider prior to getting my bike, and I am now a converted rider and loving the exercise I am getting and the sights I am seeing!
Don MACIVER –
Hi guys..I have had my Town n trail Melo Yello for a number of years and have really enjoyed it..way back to covid lockdown the grandkids and I would ride all over the place as they were in our bubble
I am now 75 and without my sturdy Melo Yellow would not have had a show of keeping up with them.
The bike has great holding power on grass ,dirt and sealed road..such a good combo..
My knees aren’t the best but when the grands visit we all go off on bikes ..it’s great fun and they love visiting as we do activities..
Every thing on the bike still works well so it must be well built..cheers to Melo Yellow. Thanks for giving me the pleasure and freedom..Don Maciver

Owning a Melo Yelo Town n Trail has been a life changer for me. I was quite sediment until I got my e-bike. Now I bike 22km everyday. I have lost weight, toned up, and it has helped lower my blood sugar levels (I am type 2 DB). Overall I feel great and it’s all because of my Melo Yelo bike. It’s easy to ride. Very comfortable (I purchased a wide seat). It goes like the clappers. I just love it ❤️
Evan Baxter –
My wife and myself both brought Meloyelo town and trail bikes and are very pleased. Excellent service provided by Emma in the Hutt Valley. Currently we are in the Hawke’s Bay with our bikes enjoying their many wine trails. We get out much more with our new bikes and can go a lot further

Great bike! I’m not sure why, but I seem to use my new electrically powered ride more often and save $$ over driving my carbon-emitting one. Must be something to do with my aging, arthritic frame. (Glad to have the bonus thumb-drive on this model!)
