My SuperLite bike has changed the way I cycle. In the past if it was a bit windy, hilly, or I had little motivation or energy that day I would not ride my standard bike but with my super cool Melo Yelo SuperLite I’m off any chance I can get as its such fun and so much easier. I can cycle the hills to work each day which is great for my health. You still get a workout – let’s face it you still need to pedal but it takes the edge off hard cycling and makes it fun. Love this bike – light weight, easy to pedal even with no assist power on, fab colour. Super pleased with it.

I only tried out 2 bikes when looking for an ebike to buy. Meloyelo Superlite was the second, and I knew I need not look any further. It is perfect for my needs. I upgraded to a full suspension seat which I think, if not already, should be standard, as the difference in comfort was profound. One other thing I will do is get a more robust stand, but this is a minor issue. I just love my Meloyelo bike, now 2 years and around 4k kms young.

An awesome bike that can cope with road and trails easily.
I’ve done a few grade 3 trails and it coped really well. Love the fact that it is, as the name suggests, superlite, as I am quite short, and find lifting this bike so much easier compared to other e bikes.
It is also really well built, great quality! The seat is super comfy too which is a bonus. Our agent made sure the bike was adjusted to fit me well.
It also comes with everything to get you started, lights and a bell and pedals (some other brands don’t include these).
Overall a fantastic all round bike, with great follow up service.

This is the second Melo Yelo I have had. The first one was great but with my arthritis getting worse I decided to buy the lite ,in hope that it would make traversing through the gates around our tracks here in Hawke’s Bay easier. It has certainly made manoeuvring the bike heaps better.
I love everything about it ,particularly its great battery. I ride roughly 50- 60 k a morning and the battery has always got me home with heaps to spare.
I couldn’t recommend it highly enough, and the throttle is a fantastic last resort up hills.
Even the pricing I think is very competitive.

Well my lovely beautiful Melo Yellow Superlite is lonely. It sits in my garage all fired up and ready to do exciting things. But I don’t have any e biking mates. So me and my superlite are a loving couple!!!
She has taken me to fabulous places, the Waikato river trails, the Timber Trail, the Whakarewarewa loop and a much unused trail around Ngunguru where coming slowly around a u bend we met a car coming very slowly the other way! We gently said hello to each other and carried on. She takes me reliably to work down the cycle way in Whangarei, gets me to work on time and home again.
She gets great care and attention from the wonderful Graeme Tivers.
This bike is perfect.

I am enjoying my new Melo Yellow. More powerful than my previous Avanti.

Really enjoying our new Superlite MeloYelo bikes. They are light and agile with some quality components such as the air shocks, hubs and tyres and seem to pedal so effortlessly even with assist set to zero. Our first ebikes and very pleased with them

I’ve wanted the MeloYelo Superlite for a long time!
I didn’t want a heavy bike like most other electric bikes, as I was worried about it pulling me over.
I first saw this bike at the Martinborough Fair and I was in love with it. Why wouldn’t I, it was pale blue and lightweight!
My hubby agreed with me that it was probably a bit more than we wanted to pay at that time.
So for me, it was my MeloYelo or nothing.
Fast forward a couple of years and we revisited our decision to get electric bikes.
So we arranged a test drive with Ben Hepburn and after a ride around my area, that was it.
My friends ask me if I like my bike and I answer “I don’t like it, I absolutely love it”
I get out on my bike regularly and I agree that it’s the best kind of ride, I still work hard, but I get the help when I need it.
Best decision I’ve made, no regrets at all.

I love my MeloYelo Superlite. I’ve had it 3 years and done 6,000km, including riding the length of the North Island along Tour Aotearoa trails last summer. The longest distance I’ve managed in a single use of battery was 108 ks and it still had power left. I ride to work most days – it’s versatile for road and track. Just love having that booster button for the last 50m up hill at the end of a long day. Beautiful bike. No issues. Couldn’t do with out it!

I’m really enjoying my MeloYelo Superlite, It’s the first e bike I’ve had and it makes such a difference keeping up with or even ahead of my husband on his non powered bike. The bikes are on the back of the caravan now as we finish up a month long tour of the NI. We usually head out exploring and do some of the trails nearby. I feel confident on the bike, and trust it will do what I want. I may need to upgrade to a full suspension seat as we get more adventurous. Everything works well and I’ve had no problems. I loved the Tongariro river trail & Waihi to Karangahake Gorge return.

Excellent bike.
Love the acceleration button

Takes a bit getting used to with the extra weight, especially dismounting. But once you get that sorted it is a breeze to ride.

I have had a lot of experience with different e-bikes that I had hired to do the various moutain bike trails around the country, such as Giant and Avanti. These bikes were good but they lacked the power of the Superlite. The handle bar placement was uncomforatable for my type of build on the Giant and Avante. I am only a light frame female and the hired bikes were heavy and awkard for me to handle. The Superlite right from the onset was better designed for comfort and power. The superlite is well built and even the suspension was impressive. I did have an intial problem with the motor cutting out, Emma in Wellington took the motor apart and found loose connections. Emma offered a spare bike for me to use and had the bike fixed within 2 days and I have never had a problem since. I have not only been impressed by the machanics of the bike but the service provided. Thank-you Meloyelo I have just clocked up 900 kms in 3 months. I am so pleased with my Superlite its fantastic fun, Ps I love the Throttle it comes in handy on those Hills and over taking on the Trails.

This is my 2nd MeloYelo bike and I choose to upgrade to the Superlite . What a lovely bike to rid with the mid drive rather than rear drive which makes it more agile and comfortable to ride plus the air shocks and step through makes it so much easier when getting a bit “older”.
I choose not to put on the mud guards and carrier so that it didn’t look like a nanna bike much to the amusement of Gary (the agent) and his wife Paula. I finally have used the throttle to get the extra power boost when required as on my previous bike I never used it. I would recommend everyone to try these bikes, as they are wonderful to ride and don’t cost a fortune.

Awesome, and a great stress relief and combined fitness machine for this energetic 78-year-old for when riding the miles of cycle ways and tracks around Napier.
For anyone with a heart or health problem, it’s a great way to not only get those upper thigh muscles working to get the blood and heart pumping but also to meet so many other people to compare bikes, (you show me yours and I will show you mine, conversations.
The other key benefit is that one will find places that you would not see in your own town or city sitting on the rocking chair waiting to die. My only concern is that I’m going to learn how to go slower when I move into a retirement village at the end of this year.
I have recommended the bike, the brand, to many, especially in my age group and some are seriously thinking of making the Meloyelo move.
Megan Deacon –
We were impressed with local agent in Napier giving us a chance to try out each of the Melo Yelo bikes before deciding on the Superlite, chosen because of it being lighter weight and the power options-especially the boost button.
We are very happy with our decision and have recommended the bike to friends.

My Superlite is my second e-bike and I am very glad that I chose the Superlite as my replacement bike. It IS really light compared to my last bike and is very comfortable to ride. Due to a bad injury sustained a year ago, I have been using its power more than I normally would have and as a result the strengthening of my damaged hip has had a lot to do with this bike. I find the gear ratio very good and the accelerator works quickly and efficiently when it is demanded to.
It certainly is a good bike and everyone I have spoken to that has one is very pleased with it.
I would highly recommend purchasing one even though it’s cost is at the top of the Melo Yelo spectrum.
Kim –
I love the Superlite e-bike. I specifically purchased this bike because I did not want the power on the entire time I am riding. Most e-bikes are too heavy to do this comfortably. This bike is light enough to use without the power on but I can use the power for hills or very windy days. I upgraded the handles but other than that it is as sold to me and just perfect.
Lynda Hay –
I love my Superlite bike so much. Sometimes I turn the electric off to get extra exercise ….but not for long as I love the ease and comfort of having it in 1. I haven’t gone with more than that as I find it perfect. But we are heading Mt to Sea March 25 so maybe might rethink that. The booster is great for sudden inclines etc. I have joined into a regular weekly biking group (Wednesday Wheelies) which is great fun and wouldn’t have without the purchase of this bike and the security of the electric component just in case.
