MeloYelo

A unique e-bike shopping experience especially for boomers like us

UNIQUE E-BIKE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

A recent post on the Facebook group “NZ e-bike community” summarised the experiences of someone who had visited 6 different bike shops in Rotorua and Tauranga. To quote: “Totally rude, judgemental service, or no acknowledgement that we were even in the shop. Really disappointed, and that’s putting it mildly.”

The post attracted lots of comments, many of those from others who had also been disappointed with their bike shop experience.

A different experience, designed with boomers in mind

At MeloYelo, we’re boomers ourselves. We understand that shopping for an e-bike is a process – often taking between 3-12 months before a decision is made – and that there are lots of questions to be answered along the way. So, our focus has been on building our own sales and service network – independent from bike shops – and providing a huge amount of training to our agents while also making lots of educational information freely available to those who are shopping for an ebike through our blogs.

Scrolling through our Google Reviews, you will find a common theme. Our customers praise the knowledge of our agents, while also appreciating the fact that they did not feel pressured into making a purchase decision.

At the end of the day, MeloYelo wants you to buy the e-bike that is best suited to you – that feels best to you. We know that we will win our fair share of business because after all, our ebikes were designed by Kiwi baby boomers, for Kiwi baby boomers. And, we are huge believers in the phrase popularized by LV Martin & Sons back in the day: “It’s the putting right that counts.”

So, if you’re shopping for an ebike, why not book a Cuppa and a Chat with MeloYelo? We’ve got agents throughout NZ and can offer you the opportunity to test ride our bikes in a safe environment. Which brings us to a final point. Many boomers haven’t ridden a bike in years, and so there is an initial fear and lack of confidence when trying out an e-bike for the first time. MeloYelo’s agents understand this and will patiently work with you while you gain balance and confidence.
