MeloYelo is a kiwi owned and operated company with sales & service agents located throughout NZ. We use the collective brain of our team of NZ engineers and bike mechanics to specify each and every component on our bikes. We then have our bikes built to these strict specifications under the watchful eye of Holger, our German engineer living in China.
Our focus is not on delivering the cheapest ebike, it is on delivering the most reliable ebike, with the best performance in its class, and backing up our products with first-class after-sales service.
Taupo-based Rob McEwen is founder and CEO of MeloYelo ebikes. He is also founder and a director of EVolocity, a charity which runs a programme in NZ high schools in which teams of students design, build and compete in electric vehicles. It’s about growing youth interest in engineering, while also helping them discover the merits of electric vehicles. MeloYelo was founded as a means of helping to fund the EVolocity programme. McEwen was formerly founder of the Association for the Promotion of Electric Vehicles (now Drive Electric) and a founder of the NZ Clean Energy Centre in Taupo.
