After fairly extensive research and visits to local retailers and on-line platforms, I decided to follow up on MeloYelo. Made an appointment with Ken and followed up with a site visit and test rides of various models, quickly deciding on the Traverse. This is an outstanding machine for cycleways and most major New Zealand trails. Ken configured the bike to my needs and preferred riding position, with a dropper seat post for ease of mounting the bike and adjustability while riding. The battery has plenty of power while available power settings and Shimano gears ensure the ride is comfortable and ready to tackle and gradient. A great bike, excellent advice and service, highly recommended

I’ve had my Traverse for 2.5 years now and had biked 6,000kms on it before the 2 years was up. My mate and brother-in-law have the same model bike and I just said to them the other day what a great little workhorse the Traverse is..!!

Since purchasing my Traverse 3 years ago l have travelled 4500kms. On pavement on gravel and in the bush.
I look forward with anticipation on every outing, it has never let me down, no punctures or mechanical issues. It has a robust build quality and plenty of get up and go, with plenty of power and range.

Terrific Traverse…..yes it has been! Done many enjoyable hours riding since purchased, on tarmac and trails and never missed a beat. As a 74 year old I have found it comfortable and reliable with plenty of power to get me where I want to go. Thanks Melo Yellow.

A great bike. We love using our bikes on the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. The local agent, Ken Agar, is fantastic, and gives great advice. We haven’t used our bikes on any really challenging trails, but I’m sure they would stand up to that sort of use. May take up the option of getting a smaller front sprocket to lower the gearing slightly which will make it even better for difficult sections. Love our bikes. Love the build quality and reliability.

I can’t fault the bike as I have done a lot of grade 3 and 4 trails on it and apart from servicing, I haven’t spent a dollar on it.
The Bafang motor is strong, but I have put a smaller front sprocket on it to lower the gearing which has enabled the bike to tackle steeper uphill track’s.
The brakes are also very good and responsive.
Overall, possibly the best ebike on the market for the dollars spent .

Before purchasing my E-bike I looked around at a lot of different bikes and brands but found the Melo Yelo Traverse was very good value ,great Bafang motor ,also helpful having the throttle for that extra burst when needed ,and with the addition of a dropper post it is a all round comfortable bike to ride it does everything I want it to do,I highly recommend this bike it’s also good to have the help from local agent David when needed

Very happy with my Traverse. Good value for money and the fact that it comes with lights, guards and carrier is a plus. Had it for a couple of years now riding on various trails and out and about with the local cycling group at Pegasus in Christchurch. Our dealer “Emega” has been supportive and dealt with the odd issue promptly.
My wife has an Ascent which she loves as well.

I use my Traverse mainly to Trail and Grade 2 & 3 MTB park riding. Accepting it isn’t a high end E-Bike, it does everything I need it to. True I have modified mine a bit by adding Air shocks, 36T front sprocket, sprung seat base and different front guard but have found it is a easy bike to modify to suit my changing needs. The rear rack is great for carrying all those extras needed when trail riding. Typically I get 50-60km per charge trail riding and the thumb throttle is really handy when a boost is needed to traverse those gnarly bits.

I’m very happy with my Traverse. Had it a couple of years now with no issues. Bafang motor works well and overall it has been a very good buy. Done about 4,000 Km on it and it seems as good as new.

I have had bike under a year happy with performance as I live 200 metres up on hills above Christchurch, handles the uphill without any issues, handles. the bike tracks around port hills good. I am 86kg bike seems to handle going uphill with the help of the throttle booster on the handlebars. I never enjoyed biking uphill but now it’s a breeze. I bought the bike as it seemed good value at the time plus the reviews at the time seemed good plus the warranty and servicing agents that you have access to.
